FROM A BLOG POST PUBLISHED BY J.D. NASH: I have been approached by several people and bands wanting to help the family in some way. This is how you can help... Backlash and Red Circle will be doing shows throughout the summer months coming up. At theese shows you will be able to donate money to a fund that is being delivered to the families of Danny and Ashley. What they use the funds for is entirely up to them. Travel expenses, medical and/or funeral bills, it's even been proposed that a scholorship fund be set up in Ashley's name. We are merely the collector's and deliverors of these donations. Ashley was a friend to me as well as a band mate's spouse. To this end Red Circle is beginning the donation process with $500.00. I urge all bands in this area that Danny was a part of, or worked with, or was a fan of, to donate what you can as well. Be it donation from your bands, collections from your fans, a benefit show, whatever you deem the best way to make this happen. The music community in this area is a tight-knit one. We don't always see eye to eye..but we always seem to feel with one heart. I'm hoping that in light of this fans and bands alike will be generous in their additions to this fund. Contributions, donations, a fund raising concert at the church Mark attended, and money sent to The Mark Haines Memorial Fund by fans, friends, and family were responsible for helping Backlash raise the money to buy this stone. It was placed in late July 2006 and was done by Osage City Monuments. To all of you who made a contribution for this cause, our thanks go out to you...it means alot to so many people to be able to visit his final resting place and remember him with this stone. ****OFFICIAL BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: MAY 10, 2008**** BACKLASH bassist DANNY TALLENT and his wife ASHLEY were in a car accident early Saturday morning May 10 in Sabetha, Kansas. Danny is in critical condition in Topeka, and Ashley did not survive the accident. We were given the news today at the beginning of the Marysville Music in The Park in Marysville, Kansas..and needless to say the band is in shock. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Danny and Ashley's family and we ask you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well. As of now the band is holding up fairly well with no clue as to what to do next. We have shows booked until the end of summer, so we ask that you still support and be patient with us as we are once again in transition. The "WALL" shows scheduled for this summer will still go on, as we're sure that Danny and Ashley would still like to see the production come to life. Thanks to J from 12 YEARS COMING for sitting in on bass for our portion of the show today, along with our good friends from both LOST and FATES DESIGN. Support from all of the bands was appreciated and needed, as we tried to decide whether to go ahead with the show or not, which we did... ....tough to do but we did it. We have some things to consider for the next few weeks and months concerning the band performing live, and as soon as we decide what our plan of action is we'll let everyone know through posts and bulletins.
